Lead Replacement

Lead can accumulate in the body leading to irreversible health damage. By replacing lead pipes you are eliminating lead from the water supply. Lead pipes can usually be found in homes built before 1963 and should be replaced to avoid further water contamination. Some or all of the service pipes connecting the water main in the street to the kitchen tap may be made of steel. By renewing pipes, the water flow and pressure will increase, allowing combination boilers, washing machines and other appliances to work more efficiently.

A qualified plumber will be able to assess the situation and make the appropriate changes to the pipe system.

Tip from our plumber: If you have any lead pipework between the stop valve outside your home and your kitchen tap, the best solution is to replace it using copper or plastic pipe.
