Replacement Taps

During the working life of a tap, the washers will undoubtedly need replacing at some point. In some cases a complete tap replacement may be required, either because the existing tap is too old and has stopped working altogether, or because a new design is desired. Changing taps can give a fresh look to a kitchen or bathroom.

There are a number of different tap designs and our plumbers know exactly how to approach repairing the different types. For example, some older, brass taps may develop cavities and become porous. Also note that not all taps fit the British-style low-pressure systems which use a tank in the loft. So you should check this before buying.

Replacing taps with the sink already fitted in can be extremely difficult. Having the correct tools might help, but it is still laborious and can prove complicated. So contact one of our plumbers who will handle the work with efficiency, and give you more time to take care of other matters.

A tip from our plumber:Tap manufacturers do not tell you that chrome plated taps are significantly more resistant to the chemicals that are used in bathrooms. Gold plated taps often lose their gold plating more easily.
